KESTREL
The Kestrel is a compact but versatile folder that that works and presents beautifully in any environment. The design, which offers a deep finger groove at the intersection between the handle and blade, makes this knife remarkably comfortable in the hand while being very small and easy to carry as a daily tool.
We employ three basic architectures for handles on our pocket knives, and all are featured in the Kestrel Collection. Each handle is machined from a single piece of metal (with overlays or inlays of organic material in most cases), so there are no seams or joints that could weaken over time. Model TZ showcases a solid handle from aerospace grade titanium for maximum utility and minimum frills. The titanium has weight reduction pockets that carve out the inside of each handle, reducing the weight without compromising utility. Models TIB, WMPC, and MCT all feature our bolster style handle (the bolster described the metal front portion of the handle that houses the pivot and buttonlock) in an array of materials. This bolster, with its sweeping curve, is recognized around the world as a signature of William Henry’s design style. New for 2008 is our interframe handle, seen in models TSW, DMTW and DBH. This handle is designed for a fully captured inlay of exotic material, set into a single piece of metal precision machined from every angle. The interframe completely protects the organic/exotic scale within a picture window of solid metal. Interframe, bolster, or full metal, each of our handle architectures offers exceptional utility and timeless elegance.
Every knife (with the exception of the all-titanium handle) includes a leather ClipCase and a braided lanyard with sterling or gold fittings to match. Each piece is engraved with two distinct numbers – a serial number on the blade and limited edition number on the leading edge of the handle. The numbers, along with the details about the knife’s construction, are listed in the included Certificate of Authenticity.
