Each of our knives can be sharpened with conventional methods like Arkansas stones, other whetstones, waterstones, ceramic, or diamond hones. Diamond is generally the fastest for redressing your edge, but other abrasives work well, too.
DO NOT USE AN ELECTRIC SHARPENER! These are far too aggressive for the fine edge geometry that we create on each blade.
Sharpening angle should range between 18 and 22 degrees - more simply, sharpen just the bevel of the edge, not the whole face of the blade. Too steep and you miss the edge, too shallow and you blunt the edge a bit. Watch for your sharpening marks to follow/replace the original polish of the edge bevel - that's your best guide.
We will also sharpen any William Henry knife back to its' original factory razor edge - send $10.00 along with the knife to our repair department, with a request for sharpening. Turnaround in our shop for re-sharpening is 1 week.
