March 2011

Back in January of 2011 I represented WHS at a 'gift suite' right before the Golden Globe Awards.  It was a fun couple days at a swanky hotel just off Sunset in LA, meeting a variety of celebrities from film and television and introducing them (in most cases) to my work and to this category of functional art.  This event also offered a rare chance for me to design and deliver a charity concept that would allow WH to give back in meaningful ways, while also expanding our audience.  Today marks the online 'launch' of that idea!

I decided to make a special 25 piece limited edition pen to celebrate the Golden Globes and to honor nominees and recipients - and I kept back the original (#01/25) prototype.  At the event in LA, I had every celebrity in attendance (about 70 very cool folks) use that prototype pen to sign a special poster frame I brought along for the occasion.  That original signed frame now outlines a poster comprised of photos of everyone who signed!  It is a one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia, of both Hollywood and WHS, and it is being auctioned along with our original #01 Golden Globes pen with all proceeds to benefit The Lopez Foundation.

The pen, valued at $2000.00, is exquisite; the poster (framed by signatures) is a real treasure, and the whole package was conceived and created by WHS and donated to The Lopez Foundation in support of their excellent work on behalf of children’s health issues.
This auction is happening right now online – below is a link to our presentation on the web, where you can learn more, share this story with your friends, and connect directly to the online auction for a chance to own this special piece of history:  CLICK HERE

So check it out, place your bid for a great cause and great chapter of WHS collectable history, and share this story with your friends and family in person, on facebook and twitter, or wherever else you can.  When the bright lights are shining down, it seems appropriate and almost essential that we use those opportunities to serve the greater good.  This partnership with actor/comedian George Lopez and The Lopez Foundation is the latest in our continued efforts in this direction…

Thanks for checking in!
