Hollywood, social media, and free stuff…
Here we go! 2011 starts with a rush, as I prepare for our first showing at a pre-red carpet event for the Golden Globe Awards next week in LA. I am bringing a great WH knife and money clip for celebs and press, and also finishing a special edition of 25 exquisite pens only for the Golden Globe nominees and presenters. The pen is a knockout, and it is the first WH to feature an interchangeable fountain pen/rollerball writing system. Also features hand-engraving and gold inlay by my friend Don Patch (this is done is our titanium cap ring, which is no small engraving feat).

I am working hard on learning how social media works, and how WH can best use it. My goal this year is to focus purely on my customers and my relationship with them – and it’s obvious that Facebook, Twitter, and other venues can be a great way to open up a dialogue and stay in touch with people who care about what we do at WH. So I am on Facebook (as WH) and Twitter, and really working to build a base and spread the word through these new channels. It’s fun, though I continue to struggle with the sheer pace and volume of information.
